Kyle Walker believes Manchester City’s management made a sensible and prudent move to Atletico Madrid after selling striker Julian Alvarez. We should now see more of Erling Braut Haaland scoring goals, with a host of new signings and reinforcements in the pipeline.
City have sold Alvarez for a club record £81m to Citi Metropolitano and he has been training hard ahead of his debut against Villarreal (August 19).
As a senior player, Walker understands all sides of this deal, but from a working perspective, he cannot help but feel sad about losing his frontline weapon.
“Honestly, I would miss that guy,” he told Ufabet.
“Like when he stepped up to replace Erling Haaland during his injury, I personally thought he performed brilliantly. And then there’s the success of winning the World Cup for Argentina, where he played brilliantly.”
“But above all, he’s a good person.”
“I think that’s what makes Alvarez stand out from the others because sometimes he deserves to be in the game but doesn’t, and he never shows any dissatisfaction to spoil the atmosphere.”
“Or like when Erling was perfect, breaking all sorts of records, Julian was content to be the underdog – but at this point it’s an opportunity to prove his worth, UFABET with Atletico investing heavily in him, and Man City have to let him go.”
“This has been a deliberate process, with Pep’s approval. If we can’t find a replacement or not, we will adapt according to the situation.”
“I don’t think I’ll complain about anything. In the past, we played for 2-3 seasons without a professional striker.”
