Lazio left-back Nuno Tavares is hoping his loan move to Rome, and he has not ruled out the possibility of leaving Arsenal because he saw former teammate Matteo Guendouzi faltering.

The 24-year-old joins the Stadio Olimpico on a loan deal for the 2024-25 season, with an option to buy outright next summer for €5-9m and a sell-on clause.

Apart from the Portuguese player seeking regular playing time instead of being bench at the Emirates Stadium, another reason for choosing the ‘Roman Eagles’ was the presence of Guendouzi, a close friend from his time at Olympique de Marseille.

“I have had a lot of loan spells, the best one was at Marseille, at Forest. We were fighting to avoid relegation and that gave me a stronger mentality,” he said during the team’s media day.

“Guendouzi played a very important role สมัคร ufabet. We spoke three times and he convinced me to take this path,”

I want to play as much as possible because my goal is to help the team win games and win trophies .”

I feel better. I’m doing everything I can to get back as soon as possible. I just need a little more time to get back to full health. But I don’t want to put a specific date on it. ”

With his move from Arsenal to Lazio , Tavares will wear the #30   jersey under head coach Marco Baroni.

The Serie A club’s sporting director. Angelo Fabiani, has reveal a deal is close for an initial loan deal that will be made permanent next summer for around £7million.

“[Tavares] is a player who interests Lazio a lot,” he told a press conference on Wednesday.

“There have been talks between the two clubs for an agreement that was reach yesterday.

“Before completing the operation, however, many components must be agreed upon and an agreement must be found with the agents.

“I am more than confident, but for superstitious reasons I will not say that he is already a Lazio player.”
