Manchester United’s new defender Matthijs de Ligt, despite having left Bayern Munich, is still deeply touched by the love of the fans in Germany, and has taken to his personal Instagram account to write an open letter to bid farewell in a formal manner.

De Ligt and full-back Noussair Mazraoui have moved from Bayern Munich to Old Trafford in a deal worth a combined £60m, unveiled yesterday, with the No. 4 and No. 3 shirts respectively. 

The Dutch player is a fan favorite of Bayern Munich. Previously, there were rumors that he was going to sell him from the Allianz Arena. He also joined the petition to oppose the decision of the management. However, in the end, the player wanted to leave and find a new challenge himself.
